Bilal Anwar Climate Governance & Finance

Two decades of work in climate diplomacy
and development have left me with
more questions than answers
What follows is a reflection on those questions,
and on the future we are still trying to shape together

Working across climate diplomacy, disaster risk financing and public policy has provided the opportunity to engage with governments, development partners and global institutions in translating policy into practical action. Witnessing both international negotiations and the painful realities faced by vulnerable communities has led me to question whether the policies, institutions, economic assumptions and development models that shaped the modern world remain fit for purpose.

The reflections shared here explore how stronger institutions, innovative finance and collaborative leadership can help build a more resilient and sustainable future.
